Land, Sea, Sky

 

This image brings together the three elements along a shoreline – Land, Sea, Sky -  in a glowing unity. Though people may not think of trees as a large part of their lake experience, without trees and shoreline grasses the land would wash away.
My artwork is landscape based and tree focused, it was interesting to consider images for sails, and to relate them to the Lake Huron shoreline. I grew up with a cottage at Point Clark, so Lake Huron is very dear to me.

This image is about connection. How the elements of a landscape are all connected and working together… and, my hope, my intent, is always to aim for a sense of intimacy for the viewer, to make them feel some essence of the connectivity and / or their own connection to the landscape.
